GENESISLOOP™ · PROCESS DEEP DIVE
One platform.
many configurations.
GenesisLoop™ powered by Revodox™ converts waste into hydrogen-rich gas, syngas, and recoverable energy through a controlled loop of oxygen transfer, molecular conversion, carrier regeneration, and heat recovery.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
A loop optimized for
the energy product.
Conversion and carrier regeneration form the core system. A steam reactor can be added when a project calls for a separate hydrogen-rich gas stream.
STEP 01
CORE STEP
Conversion Reactor
The primary stage where selected feedstocks react with oxygen from the Revodox™ carrier. The carrier is reduced as it donates oxygen, then exits toward the next stage.
STEP 02
HYDROGEN CONFIGURATION
Steam Reactor
An optional intermediate stage. Steam reacts with the partially reduced carrier, producing a separate hydrogen-rich gas stream while partially restoring the carrier.
STEP 03
CORE STEP
Carrier Regenerator
Air is introduced to restore the Revodox™ carrier to its fully oxidized state. Recoverable heat is released. The carrier returns to the Conversion Reactor to begin the cycle again.
Revodox™ circulates between the active reactor stages
01
CORE STEP · CONVERSION REACTOR
Waste material becomes
a product-gas stream.
Prepared material reacts with oxygen delivered by Revodox™. Controlled oxygen delivery, temperature, feed rate, circulation, and residence time convert larger carbon-containing molecules into a raw syngas pathway.
Because air does not enter this reactor directly, nitrogen does not dilute the product gas.
OUTPUTS FROM THIS STAGE
- → Configured product-gas pathway
- → Reduced Revodox™ carrier
OPTIONAL · STEAM REACTOR
Where hydrogen-rich gas
can be produced.
When the project includes a steam reactor, oxygen-depleted Revodox™ reacts with steam and produces a separate hydrogen-rich gas stream.
The stream remains separate from syngas and regeneration gas, creating a direct path to conditioning and purification.
OUTPUTS FROM THIS STAGE
- → Hydrogen-rich gas stream
- → Partially restored carrier
02
03
CORE STEP · CARRIER REGENERATOR
Where Revodox™ is restored
and heat returns to the loop.
Air restores oxygen to Revodox™ in an exothermic reaction. The hot carrier returns to the conversion reactor with oxygen and heat for the next cycle.
This integrated heat loop reduces the external heat the core process needs after startup.
OUTPUTS FROM THIS STAGE
- → Restored Revodox™ carrier
- → Recoverable heat
- → Oxygen-depleted regeneration gas
Revodox™ TECHNOLOGY
The regenerable oxygen carrier that moves
oxygen and heat through the loop.
Revodox™ is EvoGenesis’s proprietary regenerable oxygen-carrier technology. It carries oxygen into the active reactors, is restored with air, and circulates back through the process.
Engineered for Precise Control
Carrier properties and operating conditions are matched to the material, reaction conditions, and energy product.
Regenerated and Recirculated
Revodox™ transfers oxygen, is restored with air, and returns hot to the active loop for the next cycle.
Integrated with the Complete System
Carrier circulation, solids handling, controls, heat recovery, monitoring, and lifecycle management work as one engineered system.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Things people ask about GenesisLoop™
Is GenesisLoop™ the same as incineration?
No. GenesisLoop™ uses controlled chemical-looping reactions instead of conventional air-fed combustion in the conversion reactor. Revodox™ delivers oxygen in solid form, keeping direct air out of that reactor and the primary gas streams separate.
The complete system still includes the gas cleanup, monitoring, and emissions controls required for the material, site, and product specification.
What feedstocks can GenesisLoop™ handle?
GenesisLoop™ is designed for carbon-containing waste streams such as plastics, used tires, and organic materials. Every prospective waste stream is evaluated for composition, contaminants, moisture, preparation, logistics, and the desired energy product.
What gases does GenesisLoop™ produce?
Depending on the configuration, GenesisLoop™ can produce syngas, a separate hydrogen-rich gas stream, recoverable high-temperature heat, and a concentrated CO₂-rich process stream. Downstream equipment conditions each stream for its intended use.
What is the research foundation behind GenesisLoop™?
GenesisLoop™ builds on more than 30 years of chemical-looping research at The Ohio State University, including oxygen-carrier development, reactor engineering, laboratory work, and pilot-scale systems.
EvoGenesis is bringing that foundation into a complete commercial platform for waste-to-energy projects.
